A centenary farm (quinta) that exists since 1568
At Foz do Arelho, a town in the Western region of Portugal, “Quinta da Foz is more than a house full of stories. The house itself is history!”
Since the sixteenth century, QUINTA DA FOZ hosted kings and princes, it is a place where the rescue of historical figures dating back to the Napoleonic invasions were drawn up. Here were raised sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren of the Paiva Magalhães family, descendant of Afonso Henriques’ servants, the captains who crossed the seas to the East and knights who never returned from the battle of Alcácer Quibir.
Quinta da Foz is committed to Biosphere international program! And it is adapting its business model, during the year 2020, to green and sustainable economy according to 2030 community framework. This harmony establishes that good international standard practices – which lead to sustainable tourism – will be integrated into Quinta da Foz´s models management and sustainable development (already dynamized at a global level).
Here there is much to see and to do: from memorable nights and days in independent houses or rooms with historic furniture, unforgettable breakfasts, environmental tourism experiences to explore in nature as a couple, with friends or in a group: birds of prey shows, beekeeping, archery, picnics, wine tours and other unique experiences!
