BOOK YOUR STAY
Country Home and Nature
At Quinta da Foz, which has existed since 1568 (16th century), you’ll feel like you’re in your own country house.
Nature surrounds you. Family stories lull you to sleep. There are rooms and cottages where tranquillity reigns and the voice of silence envelops you.
Feel the weight of the iron key.
Listen to the real sound of the latch turning. Open the massive door.
Breathe in the air of time.
Be enchanted by the uniqueness of Quinta da Foz….
The comfort of the 21st century without losing its historic identity:
4 refurbished rooms with a unique personality.
The comforts of an upscale family-run guest house, where artefacts merge with Portugal’s historical personality.
The Quinta’s cottages are independent one-bedroom houses with sofa beds.
With an equipped kitchenette, open-plan living room, bedroom and bathroom, each house has two doors to the outside: one leading directly into the Quinta and the other onto a serene street with almost no traffic.
In the spacious and cosy Sala da Abóbada (common living room) there are sofas, television, board games, books, stone statues, niches carved into the walls with artefacts that are part of the family history, an honesty bar with wines, sour cherries and delicacies…
This is a room to (simply) be in, with time and without haste!
In the Sala da Cocheira Velha, with a direct entrance from the Sala da Abóbada or from the Pátio dos Plátanos, the floor is ancient, the table is huge and invites you to sit down, and the sofas are cosy. Here you can organise a business meeting or a family meal (by prior appointment), work or simply enjoy the nooks and crannies.
In the indoor riding arena, located right at the entrance to the Quinta, you’ll find a large rectangular space with an area of 180 m², available for group events (up to 100 people). The walls tell many stories because the building, despite being restored, retains the essence of riders and their horses. The tribune, which houses General Junot’s charriot (16th century) that also transported Queen Maria II at a later date, continues to dazzle as soon as you enter the space.
Pátio dos Plátanos is one of the Quinta’s most special places, whether for the view over the Óbidos Lagoon, the centenary plane trees or the beautiful stone tables.
In the Cellar shop you’ll find souvenirs from ‘our land’. From local handicrafts to wines, sour cherries, rustic products and souvenirs from Quinta da Foz.
