Welcome, check-in

  1. When should I check in?
    In the rooms you can check in from 2pm.
    In the houses you can check in from 4pm.
  2. Can I check in at a later time?
    Quinta da Foz´s host is available to welcome Guests at the time that is most convenient for them, as long as this time is agreed 24 hours in advance of the day of check-in.
    However, the availability of reception outside the parameterised hours (2pm to 8pm) will be subject to availability, is subject to prior confirmation and requires timely indication (24 hours in advance).
  3. Is it possible to check in before 2pm and earlier than the established time?
    Check-in must take place at any time between 2pm and 8pm.
    To ensure that your accommodation is available before check-in time (2pm), you must book the night before.
    However, if there are rooms/houses unoccupied when you arrive at Quinta da Foz, we allow you to check in earlier than the established time.
  4. Do you have a luggage service?
    No. However, whenever you need to, you can hand us your luggage so that it can be stored free of charge.
  5. Can I indicate that I don’t want room service during my stay?
    When you check in, you must tell us that you “do not want room service”, which means that during your stay our staff will not enter your accommodation as long as you tell us that you do.
    Towelling and other tasks will always take place outside your room/house.

Farewell, check-out

  1. When should I check out?
    Check-out, in the houses and rooms, is at 11am.
  2. Is it possible to check-out after 11am and later than the established time?
    If you need to retain your accommodation after the established check-out time, you must confirm with us in advance whether this is available and until what time you wish to secure your room/house. The accommodation may already be booked and there is a need to prepare the room/house to welcome a new Guest.

Breakfast

  1. Is breakfast included in the rooms?
    Yes. Breakfast, with some local gastronomic suggestions, is included in the room rate. It is served in our breakfast room in the private area of our Mother House between 8.30am and 10am. And in winter we light the fireplace so you can feel the “crackle of memories”.
  2. Is breakfast included in the houses?
    No. But upon prior request 24 hours in advance, and subject to availability, we can deliver a wicker basket with our family crockery and some local gastronomic suggestions between 8.30am and 10am.
    The price per adult is 12.5€ and per child (up to 12 years old) is 7.5€.
  3. What’s on the breakfast menu?
    Our breakfast has a varied menu, with some local delicacies and suggestions cooked by people from our family. We highlight…
    – Coffee
    – Milk
    – Quinta da Foz infusion
    – Juice
    – Yoghurt with homemade granola
    – Cereals
    – Seasonal fruit
    – Puff pastry
    – Cold meats
    – Cheese
    – Vegetables
    – Homemade jams
    – Honey
    – Regional biscuits (“lizards and kisses” from Caldas da Rainha)
    – Regional cake

Pet-friendly

  1. Can I bring my dog to Quinta da Foz?
    Yes, everyone at Quinta da Foz is pet-friendly and your dog is welcome during your stay.
    Please inform us at the time of booking that you will be accompanied by your faithful friend. Before you arrive at Quinta da Foz, we will send you our ‘rules for pets at Quinta da Foz’.
  2. Can I bring a pet to Quinta da Foz?
    Only dogs are allowed. And your faithful friend must be no more than 40 centimetres tall and weigh no more than 30 kilos.
    No other animal may stay, or be kept at, Quinta da Foz.

Activities and experiences

  1. What can I do while I’m at Quinta da Foz?
    There’s a lot to see and do at our Quinta: from marvellous outdoor spaces to environmental tourism experiences in nature.
  2. What can I do in Foz de Arelho?
    At Foz de Arelho there are a number of activities and experiences that you can’t miss: walks in Óbidos Lagoon, hiking trails, canoe trips, water biking, paddling, meditation sessions…
  3. How can I book activities?
    Experiences in the nature of our Quinta must be booked 48 hours in advance and take place outdoors, for couples or families.

    The activities at Foz de Arelho are organised by Quinta da Foz’s partners. We will be happy to provide you with these direct contacts.

Cancellation policy

  1. Can I cancel my room reservation up to 48 hours before check-in?
    Yes. At Quinta da Foz we endeavour to offer flexible booking conditions. For this reason, reservations can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 48 hours before check-in, and the amount paid will be refunded 100%.
  2. Can I cancel my reservation at the houses up to 48 hours before my check-in?
    No. Reservations at the Quinta can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 5 days before check-in, so that you can get 100% of your payment back.
  3. Can I cancel my booking up to 24 hours before my check-in?
    No. If you do, we won’t be able to refund your payment.

At Quinta da Foz, instead of checking in in person when you arrive at Quinta da Foz, you can use (for your convenience) the online check-in form. The form, available in the reserved area of our website, is exclusively accessible to Quinta da Foz Guests.
