Welcome to Quinta da Foz

Quinta da Foz, despite its 10 hectares of natural surroundings, has only 4 rooms and 2 houses. But that doesn’t mean we’re not committed. And that’s why we’ve adjusted our art of welcoming and hosting.

We have implemented an internal Contingency Plan and have created (and follow daily) safety protocols and hygiene plans, which correspond to demanding methodologies in terms of work procedures and cleaning of common areas, our rooms and our Quinta Houses.

We have been committed to Biosphere’s international sustainable tourism programme since 2020. In 2023, Quinta da Foz was recognised by Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle as a sustainable company, and this international certification focuses on the analysis and evaluation of Quinta da Foz’s plans and practical actions in 3 dimensions: ‘environment and climate change’, ‘society and culture’ and ‘governance and economy’.

We are flexible enough to appropriate and readapt new procedures or adjust (and introduce new…) working methods. Always with the aim of safeguarding the well-being, health, happiness, tranquillity and serenity of our Guests, our small team and our community of Foz de Arelho!

Our message

At Foz do Arelho, the rhythm of live is inspiring…The soul of the village merges with Óbidos Lagoon and the sea.

The sand is a sight to see. You can take a walk, ride a bike, and take a boat or raft ride. Alone or with your preferred company!

At Quinta da Foz everything is slow, lingering, and sustainable…

At our Quinta life moves slowly and the pace of time is calm and natural.

Here the intensity of the sound of the countryside and meadows is only interrupted by the singing of the peacocks, the ducks’ caw, the horses’ neigh or the trees’ whisper.

At Quinta da Foz we commit to the cleaning and health security procedures we aim to achieve with dedication and determination.

Our sustainability

Sustainability at Quinta da Foz is intrinsic to the way the place coexists with nature and Foz de Arelho territory.

Quinta da Foz’s sustainability strategy is based on the economic, social and environmental dimensions of each of the activities carried out at the Farm. Because we need to improve performance but also monitor the impacts of the development of Quinta da Foz’s tourism activity.

By responding to the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the international Biosphere Sustainable Lifestyle certification awarded to Quinta da Foz recognises that the Quinta is in harmony between economic, social and environmental areas, that there is a commitment to sustainability and that there is sustainable consistency.

During your stay

We don’t have air conditioning. But we can provide fans on request.

We minimise paper materials. That’s why we have a digital concierge with secrets and stories about our house.

All our accommodation spaces – 2 houses and 4 bedrooms – have direct access to the outside, either to the nature of our Quinta or to a quiet side street in Foz de Arelho.
